The product that started all of this is here http://www.millennium-nails.com/index.php?cat=20&product_id=789 it is a nail kit including a training hand, everything you need to practice acrylics, and ends in a qualification that allows you to get insurance and work as a nail technician in acrylics. Now as I am blessed with strong and fast growing natural nails I have never had acrylics myself, and am more interested in gel nails, however after watching some of Gemma Lamberts nail tutorial videos (see link at the top of this post) I have come to appreciate the detail and artistry that can be achieved using acrylic, and cannot wait to try it out myself. Also I figured that being able to do acrylic nails well is pretty much a fundamental base for any nail technician, and if this goes well I intend to embark on training in manicures, UV Gel nails, fiberglass and silk nails as well as nail art courses to improve my skill base. Money permitting of course!
My nail trainer kit has not yet arrived, but following a phone call to millennium nails customer services I am confident that I should have it by Wednesday at the latest, I am super excited :) anyway in the meantime I will have some fun experimenting with some of the things I already have. My supplies at the moment are extremely limited, and consist of a small selection of non-professional polishes, and my imagination! I intend to give myself a monthly "nail supplies allowance", this won't be very much as I have recently become unemployed, so I need to work out a budget first! I expect all of my Christmas present list will consist of nail supplies somehow! And any donations from practicing my nails on friends and family will immediately go into the nail fund piggy!

I should also point out that I really am a complete beginner, so don't be too harsh in your judgement of my work, I can only improve right?! Any constructive criticism, tips and compliments will always be very gratefully received. Thanks all, much love S x
