Poppy Nails As Promised

Well, they're not really poppy shaped, but they are the right colours at least! Here is what I used:-

From left to right:

• Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in 819 Green With Envy
• 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Strictly Red
• Stargazer Nail Polish in 129
• No7 Stay Perfect Top Coat
• A bent hair pin as a dotting tool(!)

Initially I painted my nails with the Green With Envy polish - this used to be one of my favourites so sadly there is not much left, but it was the only green I had - This had a good coverage with 2 coats, as you can see here:

I then used my bent hair clip to dot on the flower shape in Strictly Red:

Finally I dotted the black nail polish in the centre of the flowers, and finished with a topcoat of No7 Stay Perfect, and this is the finished result:

I think they are quite cute, and I expect I will use this technique in other colours in future designs. Hopefully they will be neater after my dotting tools and brush set arrives, but the bent hair grip worked surprisingly well. Apologies about the scruffy edges, but I left my liquid nail varnish remover in bristol so will just have to wait till they clean themselves up. I usually find that doing the dishes or washing my hair gets any excess polish off of my skin anyway :)
